Does anyone have details for Seni 05? I take it it'll be in Birmingham again, but what about the BJJ tournament?

I couldn't be bothered to search and knew you'd come up with the goods. :-)

So that's a Sunday for the comp then? I hear a few different dates flying around. You got a website?

Seni 05 is on the 23rd & 24th of April at the NEC Birmingham and I've read that the Gracie BJJ Invitational is on the 23rd

You can get the application form [link=http://www.senishow.com/Word%20Docs/Gracie%20Application.doc]here[/link]

Full details should be on the [link=http://www.gracie-barra.co.uk/]new gracie barra site[/link] soon

I'll be there but I doubt I'll be entering. I'm still a novice when it comes to rolling.
I'm sure Andy and Bassmonger will be entering and a few from GB Sheffield.

Yeah, I'll definitely be in it, as will most of the GB Sheffield lot (barring injuries). It's a week after my birthday, so I already have an excuse for if I lose. Sorry, when I lose.

sl, if you do any sort of gi training before then, you should enter, it's all good experience.

I'd be like a fish out of water to be honest. I've just found a bjj gym so ill be bashing that like a possesed fool. My grappling skills our poor i can kick and punch and throw with the best of them but wouldnt fancy my chances with true grapplers. However who knows maybe the end of the year / next year.

Hopefully i'll meet up with a few of you guys im defo coming the seni be nice to put some faces to the names. I'll leave my monkey at home though..:-D

You'll probably pick it up quickly enough. I went in my first tournament after I'd only been doing BJJ about 2-3 months. Obviously I lost, but not too badly and I enjoyed it. Besides, if you're planning on going along to watch anyway you may as well have a bash.

Same goes for Sweaty Gi and any other shirkers.

In MMA tournaments, like one of the ones at Seni 05. Are strikes etc allowed? Obviously not in the Gracie Open, but the others. Also I remember some guys saying they were taking part - What tournament etc?

As for the strikes, it all depends which level they are fighting at, amateur, seni pro or pro. I believe you're restricted to just body strikes at amateur level, and only head shots while standing for semi pro.

Does that include you ?

Do they limit the number in each weight category per club or is it just for open weight ?
