What you hear is the sound of the hand moving through the air not the sound of two hands coming together. The same sound is present when two hands are clapped its just that you do not focus on that sound as it is less significant to the sound of the hands contacting.....in relation to MA philosophy study the whole technique, the preparation & build up to the delivery and not just the end result, this way you will get the build up & delivery right so that the end result will follow.
