Sunday 19th March 2006 at 02:09 Hey, I guess this question is more directed for Rob, but what style of TJJ is being shown in this syllabus? I learned the basics of TJJ from my father who was a brown belt, and blocks and such are different from what is shown here. (I know that JJ systems vary endlessly). Wish there was a dojo in my area, but here in the suburban New York area TJJ is suprisingly hard to find... Chuck Norris doesn't sleep. He |

Sunday 19th March 2006 at 16:24 I see. Well, as far as I can tell, TJJ doesnt have any real unity amongst different dojos, the styles are incredibly different ( ive seen styles ranging from aikdo type ju jitsu to a completely "modernized" version. As for my family's kind of TJJ studied, it was more of the original sensei's interpritation. (Btw, I was lookin through the techniques before, and it looks like the low parry hurts the defender like a b*tch:-)) ) Chuck Norris doesn't sleep. He |
