Monday 1st August 2005 at 23:47 Hey Steve. I've met a lot of people who slate karate outright. I've always thought that any form of martial art will be useful and effective "when push comes to shove". How do you rate the different MA forms you've trained in? |

Tuesday 2nd August 2005 at 17:32 Many years of 'striking practice' and 'blocking practice' as taught in karate classes without doubt works & tones muscle memory to increase hand speed & hand/eye co-ordination. "Its not the size of the dog i |

Thursday 15th September 2005 at 11:11 I'm Marc - tall, dark and - as Meatloaf once said - two out of three ain't bad. Good sense of humour. I like music, football, martial arts, beer, long walks on beaches at night, long walks on short piers, long wanks after many beers. Looking for like-minded females for good times, possibly more. Thursday 15th September 2005 at 16:17 hello all. im 22. 5ft 7, and about 12 and half stone. proudly had my little girl last sunday 9/11. ironic date, but hey. i have been training in tjj for about six or maybe more months and two weeks ago passed my yellow belt. awesome to get off that white. I truely enjoy it. i have just recently left the british armed forces after five years of service and finding life harshly boring. working as a lorry driver at the moment to bring in the cash. saving up to go to film school next april in london, i know its almost impossible to get work in the film industry, but who cares. ambition keeps me from going insane. well speak to you all soon. ------------------------------ |

Sunday 18th September 2005 at 18:41 Have you thought about the TA or RNR? A license to print money. With a 5 years in you'd be straight in at £1500 odd tax free bounty after your 2 weeks and 2 weekends each year and if you're in full time education (film school) they can't mobilize you. :-D |

Saturday 24th September 2005 at 12:28 i have been thinking about the TA. i do miss doing the job. but i really cant be doing with the bull*h!t. that was the only reason for me leaving in the first place. but two weeks ago all the lads had a party at the barracks and it was awesome to see them all again. plus im sure it would get me out to iraq.something i didnt get to do before i left. another reason for me leaving. but thats probably one of them things i would like to do, but when i would get the chance to do it. il be like, mmmmm, not wanting to be here lol. but i got my commitments now. what is the ta like? ------------------------------ |

Wednesday 28th September 2005 at 21:16 Hi it`s Bee. Remember, the guy you ripped a couple of weeks ago. I`m the bad side of 40 and have been training Ju-Jitsu with the BJJA for almost 2 years. I`m just getting to grips with my Blue belt......Luvin it. My daughter started first with our persuation. I got a couple of free lessons and got hooked. My son who is 16 now trains with me. Great to throw your son around but not so good when he throws you THROUGH the mat. We manage to train 2 or 3 times per week. 1.5 ish hours per session. Although ground fighting is not a big part of TJJ we do a fair bit in training. Great fun....bloody hard work 100% non stop. Respect to you Brazilian practitioners!! Anyway just sorted broadband ( well my son did ) so should be posting more in future. Bee. "Bee" |

Thursday 29th September 2005 at 09:03 It got a bit pointless in my eyes, there wasn't anything to prove anymore, it was no big target in the end. I'd started training in BJJ by that point and was concentrating on that, plus teaching the TJJ, so didn't much time for my own training in TJJ anyway. The Admin Guy |
